Hi farm friends! I need to address something, as yesterday after making a 2 hour round trip to buy more chicken feed ($180 worth) that will last about 2 weeks, with current production of eggs WAY down (about 1.5 dozen/day right now if I'm lucky), and unloading said feed then checking the farm fridge & cash box to find 5 dozen eggs gone & only $10 left.
I would like to think this is an innocent mistake, so a friendly reminder because I DID check our Venmo & PayPal accounts first to make sure there wasn't a payment there, to
1) please make sure if you are paying through either of those digital wallets that the payment does go through before you leave.
2) our eggs are not "pay what you want". Pricing is clearly marked on our sign.
*Additionally, please do not use our egg cartons as cash to pay for your eggs. We offer a discount on a one to one exchange basis for each dozen of eggs when returning one of our egg cartons as a courtesy, but it seems that some are using this to pay for our eggs, which is really hard on our cash flow and we will have to discontinue if people continue to abuse this. This is noted on our newer labels of egg cartons as well.
3) we do have cameras. I will be going through them to check what happened and when.
We've had money and a cash box stolen/broken multiple times, people taking eggs without paying or not leaving the correct amount in the past. I don't often talk about this but we've had hundreds of dollars taken from our farm stand. This is among continually rising feed prices in which I still have not raised our prices (this will be coming soon most likely). And a final reminder that we are in the business to be financially sustainable as well, which means we cannot continue to lose money and provide quality products. Thank you to our faithful customers who appreciate what we are doing, we couldn't do it without your support!
