Happy Friday everyone!

Friday Fun fact is about those wonderful, fluffy, overly sweet, rich in cinnamon and can be a whole range of flavor and sizes, it's the cinnamon roll or bun as some call it.

" Cinnamon rolls have a rich history dating back to 16th-century Germany, distinct global variations like Sweden's cardamom-infused kanelbulle, and an unexpected pop-culture icon connection to the famous Sanrio puppy named after his cinnamon-roll tail."

"Ancient spice: Cinnamon was once so rare and prized in the ancient world that it was considered more valuable than gold."

"International names: They are called kanelbulle in Sweden, korvapuusti in Finland, and zimtschnecken in Germany."

"Swedish tradition: Sweden celebrates National Cinnamon Bun Day (Kanelbullens dag) every year on October 4th."

"Regional styles: Swedish cinnamon buns are less heavy and sweet than American versions, often flavored with cardamom and baked without heavy cream cheese frosting."

"The spiral design: The spiral cut is intentional, allowing the butter and sugar mixture to melt evenly through every single bite."

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We appreciate you all. ✌️ out for now.

As I wait for the icing to finish thicken so I can finish applying it and cleaning up the plate I reflect on the years my father (with help from mother) would make me one for my birthdays (with pecans on top) and the year that he stopped because mama was no longer there to help him. This is my 5th birthday without my mother and 2nd without my father. They say it get easier but as of today I can't see it happening.

If you are still blessed with your parents take my advice and don't forget them. Spend time with them, continue to make memories with them and just treasure ever minute because one day there will be no more time for memories to be made, time to spend or stories to be told. Life without them is the hardest then in this world to accept or deal with.

Today's Fun Fact is more about the past and a question for you.

How many of you used a lunch box when you were going to school and a thermos? I. An remember using both and even when we got older we used a brown paper bag and wrapped out can drinks in tin foil to keep them cold all day.

"A lunch pail is a deep, heavy-duty metal or bucket-like container historically used by industrial workers, while a lunch box is a general rectangular container often decorated with characters for school children.

Lunch pail: Evolved from older 19th-century "dinner pails" used by factory and construction workers.Lunch box: Popularized in the 20th century, especially starting in 1902 and booming in the 1950s with colorful pop-culture graphics for kids."

The lunch boxes like below are making a come back. We have seem them recently at. Ar shows with hot rods on them and even at the A&W Root B**r restaurant in Darlington. No thermos just the box. A great childhood memory.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and cooler weekend. ✌️ out for now and we appreciate you.

Friday's Fun Fact:

Have you ever heard of the 1234 rule?

"The "1234 rule" in baking refers to a classic, easy-to-memorize ratio for making traditional American layer or pound cakes. The formula dictates: 1 cup of butter, 2 cups of sugar, 3 cups of flour, and 4 eggs.

History & Variations
Dating back to the late 19th century, the 1-2-3-4 cake was designed before measuring cups had milliliters and exact baking blogs existed. To complete the cake, modern bakers typically add a few pantry staples.

Leavening Agent: 1 tablespoon of baking powder
Liquid: 1 cup of milk or buttermilk
Flavoring: 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt."

Happy Baking. ✌️ out for now.
