A little update on our baby ducks. 🦆💛
It's been about a month since they hatched, and as beautiful as nature is, it can also be incredibly tough.
Out of the four ducklings, only one survived. One by one, something picked the others off. Whether it was turtles, hawks, owls, or another predator, we'll never know for sure. It's simply part of life on the farm, even when it's hard to witness.
When I found the last little duckling all alone and struggling, I couldn't just leave him. I brought him inside for the night, got him warmed up and hydrated, and then we raised him safely in one of our horse stalls for the next several weeks.
About a week ago, we decided it was time to reunite him with his parents. I wasn't sure how it would go, but it has been amazing to watch. He was welcomed back, and now he's thriving on the pond like he was always meant to be there.

This little guy has certainly earned his name.
This experience taught us a valuable lesson. Next time we have ducklings, we'll be incubating them right away so they have a better chance at life before being introduced back to the pond. Farm life is full of joy, but it's also full of learning experiences that help us become better caretakers.
We're just so grateful that our little Warrior is doing so well. Watching him paddle around with his parents makes all the extra care worthwhile. Sometimes one tiny life reminds you just how resilient God's creatures can be. 🦆✨
