September brings a gentle transition on the farm as we begin looking toward the cooler days of fall. While summer is still giving us several more weeks of melons, peppers, okra, basil and other warm-season favorites, the fields are already making room for what comes next.

Lettuce, kale, broccolini, beets, radishes and carrots have been sown into the soil, with hopes for the crisp mornings and cooler temperatures that help these fall crops thrive. We’re also looking forward to harvesting our sweet potatoes and delicata squash, which will be carefully cured and saved for the fall markets ahead.

As always, our harvest changes with the season, and availability may vary from week to week. We’re grateful for every week of summer’s abundance and excited to see what the coming season brings.

Thank you for supporting our small farm and choosing fresh, locally grown food. We look forward to seeing you at the market!

POV: You came to the market for flowers and left with a basil bouquet.
Our Basil & Bloom Bar was all about building a bouquet that looks pretty, smells amazing, and can actually be used in the kitchen.

Here’s how to build yours:

Get your cup.
Pour in water.
Add Genovese basil — classic, sweet, and savory. The go-to for pesto, pasta, Caprese, sauces, and just about anything that needs a fresh basil boost.
Add Cinnamon basil — fragrant with warm, spicy notes. Try it in tea, infused water, cocktails, fruit dishes, or desserts.
Add Tulsi basil — also known as holy basil, with a clove-like, peppery aroma. Wonderful for tea and herbal cocktail infusions.
Finish with a pop of color: pink globe amaranth. It adds a little flower power and dries beautifully for a bouquet you can keep around.
Who says a bouquet has to be just flowers?
Herbs belong in bouquets, too.

🌿 Farmer’s Market Roasted Okra 🌿

If you’ve never tried roasted okra, this is your sign! 💚

Our okra is picked young and tender for the best flavor and texture. Simply toss it with:
🧈 Butter, beef tallow, or KuneKune Lard Dos Lobos Ranch
🧄 Garlic powder
🧅 Onion powder
🧂 Salt & pepper

Spread on a baking sheet and roast at 350°F in the oven or on the grill for 18–22 minutes until the edges are lightly browned.

✨ Optional: Top with freshly grated Parmesan and a squeeze of lemon for an extra burst of flavor!

Fresh, simple ingredients are all you need when your produce is this good. Stop by our booth this week and pick up a box or 2 ok Okra while they last! We also use compostable, plant based packaging!
