Hi friends! We have lots of dog treats available - so we are going to do a flash sale!! Now through this weekend the treats are available for $5 per bag.

These jerky treats are made from our own beef cattle and are socks 🐶 approved!!

These make perfect gifts for your favorite furry friends :)

Ways to buy:
They are available for purchase at both of our farm stands. Can’t make it to the farm stand easily? Reach out and we will find a way to get them to you via shipping or drop off :)

Honey harvest happened on Sunday.

We took a little here, a little there, enough to have some to sell this year, but leaving enough for each of our hives to add to and have enough food for winter.

Total harvest count isn’t in yet - but some cool harvest pics are! 📸

We are ending the season with 18 hives - looking forward to see how they do this winter!!

It is officially the end of summer for us at both of our farm stands. This weekend will be the last weekend that we carry any watermelons, peaches and quite possibly corn.

Next week we will transition into adding fall items- and continue on with produce that is still in season.

This weekend, at our Ridgeway location, we also have half bushels and pecks of tomatoes available - perfect for canning!!!

We had an absolutely amazing day at Washtenaw County’s field day!! We learned so much useful information about everything from cover crops in orchards, to rain gardens! What an amazing day filled with great conversations and wonderful presentations.

Our Biggest Announcement Yet!! 🚨🚨

Andrew has received a $17,140 grant from Mi-impact.org to expand his fruit tree, honeybee and egg laying chicken operations.

So far Andrew has been able to purchase 14 additional bee hives and 70 chickens!

The remainder of the money will be used to:
- build a large chicken coop
- purchase additional chickens to get his count up to 150+ chickens 🤩
- and purchase 100+ fruit trees and shrubs, that will be partially planted this fall, with the rest planted next spring.

This is a life changing opportunity for AJ Ries Farms and we could not be more excited to see what comes of these ventures!!

✨ Pay-What-You-Can Picking Update ✨

This year we were so excited to launch pay-what-you-can picking days! We planted extra with the dream of inviting the community out once a month to pick your own vegetables straight from the field.

But… we’re farming on land that hasn’t been worked in over five years, and the weeds have gone WILD. 🌱 To us, it’s just part of the job—we know where everything is and don’t mind digging through the green jungle—but we wouldn’t expect visitors to battle the weeds like we do.

Because of that, we’ve only been able to host a few folks in the field this season, and unfortunately it’s not looking possible this month. Instead, we spent last night and this morning harvesting all the extra produce we could to share with you. We’ve set up about a quarter of a picnic table that we’ll keep stocked with “pay-what-you-can” veggies all weekend long!

💚 Pay a little, pay a lot, or pay nothing at all—it’s truly up to you. These veggies are open to everyone, regardless of financial situation. (This is separate from our free produce bin for those in need.)

This weekend’s offerings include:
🍅 Roma tomatoes
🥒 funky-shaped cucumbers
🥒 jumbo zucchini
🍋 lemon basil
🌸 fresh flowers
🌶️ assorted peppers

We hope you’ll stop by and enjoy some fresh-from-the-field goodness. 😎

Anyone looking to do some canning this weekend?

We will have the following available by orders only:

- Jalapeños: Pecks $10
- Bell peppers: 1/2 Bushel $15 & bushel $30
- Green Beans: 1/2 bushel $25 & bushel $40
- Tomatoes: 1/2 bushel $25

Send us a message and we will set some aside for you. Pick up will be 10-4 Saturday or Sunday. Pick ups can be done at either our Tipton or Ridgeway location.

These bins are here for community members truly in need—whether you're facing a tough time financially or just trying to put more fresh, local food on the table but can't always afford it.

Andrew (and socks) are very excited to announce our new line of AJ Ries Farms jerky dog treats.

These jerky treats are made our close friends at Alfonzo's Astonishing Treats LLC and made from AJ Ries Farms cows.

We could not be more excited for this partnership- and socks could not be more excited to sample the treats!!

Here is the deal- this week we will put packs out at both farm stand locations, however, please know this is a limited supply item and we only have 28 packs, so please message us if you are interested in reserving a pack today!
