🐝 We may have missed National Honey Bee Day the other day, but there was no way we were going to let it pass without celebrating our amazing girls!

Our honey bees work hard for us, not only pollinating our vegetables, but also collecting pollen and nectar to make that wonderful honey we all love.

Conservation is one of our core values at Rooted Farms and something we strive every day to become more “rooted in.” That means recognizing that while honey bees are incredibly important to our farm, they can also compete with native bees for limited resources.

That’s why we’re intentional about planting lots of flowers that bloom throughout the season, providing plenty of forage right here on the farm and keeping our bees close by as much as reasonably possible. We also spread our hives across multiple locations so they don’t over-forage any one area.

It’s all about finding that balance, caring for our honey bees while also being mindful of and making space for the incredible native pollinators that call this place home.

Anyhoots… all of that to say, we absolutely love and appreciate our girls!

And for everyone who’s been waiting, honey will be restocked at both stands by this weekend! 🍯 Keep your eyes peeled! 🙂

We got them! And boy are they pretty!
$4 for pint of Cherries or $5 for a quart of rounds.

We also have 1/2 bushels for canning available at $25 - $30.

We will be at the Ridgeway Stand from 10 am - 4 pm today. And as always, both stands are self-serve 24/7 when someone isn’t there.

Long time, no talk!

We’ve been so extremely busy this year, and we wanted to finally take a minute to share a little update with you.

Our farm name is now Rooted Farms Co. 🌱

Same people. Same farm. Same values. Same love for growing good food and sharing it with our community, just a different name.

We’ll be sharing more about the why behind the name change later this year, but for now, we’re excited to officially introduce you to Rooted Farms Co.

Rooted in agriculture, conservation & community.

And while we’re here, we also want to say a huge thank you for your patience with our Ridgeway farm stand being a little more self-serve than usual. It’s truly a two-person operation in Ridgeway, my dad and I are a team, alternating between being at the stand, picking vegetables, working our full-time jobs, and taking care of everything that comes with raising a 14-year-old.

Meanwhile, Andrew has been holding things down in Tipton, caring for the animals and bees.

We want to be at the stand and with our customers as much as possible, but that is not always doable. We appreciate your patience and understanding more than you know.

From now through the end of September, we’re hoping to be at the Ridgeway stand in person every day from 3–6 PM, plus during the day on Saturdays and Sundays.

Tomorrow (Sunday August 16th), we’ll be there ALL DAY, for sure from 10 AM–4 PM! 🌽🥕🍅
