We have 7 litters in the farrowing room right now. As we wean, I’ll start posting individual pictures. So far 5 litters of Herefords- Sancho from Hendricks x New Era, La di da di da from Walker x Shock Collar (Teddy son), Chaos from Sugar Creek x Say No More, (2) Top Gun bought from Grady’s 2019(Top Notch son) x Buff Guy (Fresh Prince son).
2 litters of Tams- Zeppelin from Hendricks x Zippo, Tree Shaker from Sugar Creek x Bentley.

The next sow we have due is “CC” (Shock Collar-Teddy son x White Sox) the 2019 Reserve Champion Prospect at the National Hereford Show. She is bred to La di da di da (New Era x Doug E Fresh) at Walker’s.

On January 2nd the first Tam litter born on our place arrived! The gilt “Taylor” is a Zippo x Guess What and bred to Zeppelin (Zip Zap x Guess What), the 2020 National Tam Show Champion boar.

The New Era x Pipefitter gilt bred to Sancho had no milk last night which was surprising to us. This morning when we went out she had 14 babies (9 live)! All unassisted and cleaned out! This is the type of gilts you dream of, the ones that can lay down, farrow easy and milk good!

The first gilt we have due is a New Era x Pipefitter that is the littermate to the Champion Hereford Boar at the 2020 Summer Type. She is bred to Sancho from Hendricks . She is huge and we can’t wait to see this match up!
The next gilt that is due will be the first Tam litter born on this farm. She is a Zippo x Guess What and bred to Zeppelin, the 2020 National Tamworth Champion boar that is also housed at Hendricks.

It’s that time of year where we have everything in the farrowing house ready to go and loading gilts/sows in the crates. Our first litter is due tomorrow and many more in the next few weeks!
