Muscadine Creek Dairy Goats

We raise ADGA show Nubian dairy goats in central Alabama. We have had Nubians since 2019. Hello!! Herd health is a top priority for us.

I am Lacy Rae and I own Muscadine Creek Dairy Goats in central Alabama. Our animals are vaccinated against Clostridium Perfringens Types C & D, Tetanus, and Pasteurella for pneumonia. We give supplemental Copper boluses and BoSe injections for an extra dose of selenium. We test all animals yearly for CAE, Johnes and CL. I keep G6S normal goats only. We conduct monthly f***l exams and deworm when necessary. We will also be incorporating Sericea Lespedeza into my goats pasture to assist with parasite management. Starting in 2022 all kids will be raised on a strict CAE prevention program. All kids will be hand raised from birth and bottle fed free choice pasteurized milk via lambar till weaned. The kids will be penned separately from the adults and given lots of individual attention. Calf Pro will be given for a Coccidia preventative.

Flashback to my very first goat show…

And uh oh… I think I’m getting the itch again. 😂

I’ve never stepped away from my goats, but for the last few years I intentionally took a step back from showing, LA, milk testing, and all the craziness that comes with that side of the goat world.

I needed that time.

Time to grow my herd, grow myself, and pour more of my energy into growing Muscadine Creek Creamery into what it is today.

But lately… I’ve been looking at old show pictures and thinking…

The show barns. The clipped goats. The show ring. The people. All of it.

Maybe 2027 is the year we make our return?

I’m not making any official announcements just yet… but the show bug might be back.

Funny how sometimes you have to step away for a little while before you realize just how much you missed it.

✨️Blissberry MC U Were Trouble✨️ with a 12hr fill for her 2nd Freshening at 4yrs old. I love this doe so much... she is the absolutely sweetest and milking her is a dream!

Spring has officially been approved by the herd 🌿☀️

Nothing makes me happier than seeing happy goats back in the wooded lot, soaking up the sunshine and browsing through the trees for the first time this season.

Baby goats have officially arrived and kidding season is all finished here! 🐐🍼

4BarE SR Pixie Dust started us off last Sunday with a single buckling out of Blissberry She Loves U Yeah. Then one week ago today, on Monday, Blissberry U Were Trouble blessed us with two gorgeous doelings out of MCCreek Captain Hook. 💕

The two little doelings will be staying here with me, and I can’t wait to watch them grow. Names are still to be decided!

Unfortunately, the handsome little buckling will be looking for a new pasture because I simply can’t keep them all 😭 And Captain Hook will also be searching for a new home, as he is now related to most of my does. Bitter sweet, but part of breeding plans and moving forward. 💔

So thankful for healthy babies, healthy mamas, and a barn full of little voices. Spring on the farm is hard to beat. 🌿🐐
