sent out this awesome gifts to I cannot wait to check out these yeasts! Some classics as well as some new ones! I’m excited to give them a try. Hopefully this weekend I will fire up the brew kettle, clean and a sanitize the fermenters.

Really thankful for to give us this opportunity to collaborate!

Life’s gotten busy this year but keep a watch out soon for some good brews!

Black IPA- This is the first black ipa I’ve ever made. That being said, it won’t be the last.

This beer is bittered with Columbus, Aroma additions of Citra, NZ Cascade and Mosaic. It’s dark fruit, citrus and a little hint of green coffee bean. I’m impressed with how well this turned out for being my first time. The only other time a first time was this good was that time with your mom.

5 gallon recipe
10lbs 2 row
8oz carapils
8oz Blackprinz
8oz chocolate malt

25.5IBUs Columbus at 60 mins
15 IBU Mosaic at 30
16 IBU Citra at 10
1oz NZ Cascade at Flameout

Ferment with Safale S05 at 70°f for 14 days.

Super easy to make, really tasty, dark fruit flavors.

Helles Rauchbier - This Helles is an old recipe and myself put together 4 years ago or so. We wanted something light with some character. I’ve tweaked this recipe a few times. This most recent time I used barke Pilsner, their Beechwood smoked malt, and some carapils to develop this easy drinking, Smoky, beer with a light malt backbone.

I was lucky enough a few years ago to go to the Homebrew Championship. This beer got me there.

It’s become a fall staple around my house. I brewed this for Thanksgiving and cannot wait to share it with friends and family.

Here’s the recipe.
58% Barke Pils
38% Beechwood Smoked Malt
5% Carapils

23 IBUs German Herkules at 60

Fermented with Nova Lager yeast at 60° for 14 days.

5.5% ABV
3.4 SRM
23 IBUs

With that being said, I didn’t have much time so I brewed Citra Flash Kit. Took me 5 mins to “brew.” This time around I tossed in some mosaic with the citra included in the kit.

The mix of citra and mosaic throws old school ipa vibes. If you’re wanting to get into brewing, limited on time, or just want to see what this kits about, I can’t recommend it enough.

Full disclosure, More Beer did send this to me and I just had to pay shipping. With that being said, this is a kit I will make again when time is limited.

Summertime! It’s finally here! I don’t know about where you’re at but summer here has been stupid wet so far here. I’m glad to have this been to enjoy though!

This beer comes in at 5.8% and uses all Pilsner malt and Cascade from both North America and New Zealand. I’m happy to report it’s as good as I anticipated. I’d say it’s got some of that traditional pine you get but it’s backed by orange pith and fresh fruit. The aroma is citrus rind as well. Im really happy with the results.

Pretty standard grain bill. 10lbs of Pilsner malt. Bittering hop, then 30, 10 minute, and wp additions. I shot for 70 IBUs and I to use equal parts of both hops in each addition..

Cheers! 🍻

Nothing like brewing your own beer and making some killer food in the smoker.
