Fitz-Roy. “Son of the king” I can’t express what a pleasure it was to work with this 5 yo for his first day of training. He acted like nothing is a problem. Started the day with teaching him to lounge, walk trot and whoa to voice commands. That took about 30 min. Sacked him out with bags and flags blankets and ropes all over him body around his legs. He never startled. Gave him a break. Came back, put the bit in under the lounging halter. Taught him to give to pressure let him chew on that. Removed the rest of the lounging equipment and placed a saddle on his back from both sides…. No problem. Lounged him picking up all his feet, backing up, Yielding on the forehand. Brought him up to the mounting block Leaned over the saddle. My thought at this point, this is too good… stop while it is all good because I did not expect to get this far in one day. Took him for a long walk down the road. Bathed and turned him out Some days are just great. Fitz gave me more than I could have ever asked for. He will be offered for sale this summer (if i can part with him) He is a Frisian cross.
