Inspired by my love for food and people, the first Kelsey's was opened on November 26, 1983. It was built upon traditional principles and a commitment to quality, service and long standing relationships with communities, customers and employees. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood w

here the emphasis on food making was its simplicity and flavor. I remember the aroma of fresh sauce being simmered at one of our neighbor's homes; the pungent smell of freshly grated cheese as Josephina sprinkled it on the pasta; and the warmth and love that exuded from the dinner table as the family ate together. At Kelsey's we serve generous portions of food, made with quality ingredients by people who care. We are not about sun dried tomatoes, wood burning ovens and $10 mushrooms. Kelsey's is your neighborhood pizzeria where you can enjoy a great meal with family and friends in a clean, comfortable atmosphere at a reasonable price.

For 42 years, Kelsey’s has been a place where memories are made and relived — where first dates became anniversaries, where children who sat in high chairs now bring children of their own, where the same booths have held birthdays, graduations, reunions, and quiet Tuesday dinners that meant more than anyone realized at the time.

Our Christmas in July is part of that legacy. It was started by my brother-in-law, George Dimitrakopoulos, during his years leading our team at Kelsey’s — a man whose profound devotion to family and tradition touched everyone who knew him. He understood that a table set with care is one of the purest expressions of love there is.

Tomorrow, we set that table again. For your memories, and in honor of his.

May his memory be eternal. 🕊️

🍔 JERRY'S BURGER

A menu favorite, and one with a story behind it.

A half pound of Angus beef, lightly seasoned with salt, pepper and oregano, with two heaping tablespoons of our Homemade Bourbon Onion Jam, grilled to perfection. Topped with two slices of melted mozzarella and served on a toasted ciabatta roll. Comes with chips or our spicy curly fries.

Why a ciabatta roll? Because this is a hearty, juicy burger, and it takes a more substantial roll — one that won't fall apart in your hands.

The burger itself is a nod to Jerry's midwestern roots. The Bourbon Onion Jam? That's what brings out the southern in him.

Jerry's Burger is named in honor of my close friend and attorney, Jerry Allender. I first met Jerry at the Ranch House in mid-1983. The Ranch House was owned and operated by Uncle Charlie, who went on to co-found Kelsey's with me on November 26, 1983. Jerry established the corporation for Kelsey's, and from that day to this he has been my legal counsel, my mentor and — most importantly — my friend.

In the summer of 2021, I had the honor of giving Jerry and his beautiful wife Judy a personal tour of my mother's village near Sparta. While we were there, I was also able to take them to the village that Telly Savalas' family came from, Gerakas, just a short way from my mother's own. That's where this photo was taken.

Jerry is a class act. This one's for you, my friend. 🥃

Make no mistake — this is a meal. We start with a bed of shredded lettuce, then load it up with julienned ham and cooked salami, freshly sliced green peppers and onions, sweet cherry tomatoes, briny Kalamata olives, tangy pepperoncini, and a generous crumble of feta. All of it topped with our famous house dressing.

Not a meat person? No problem — you can substitute turkey for the ham and salami and keep every other good thing about it.

Comes in three sizes — mini, for-one, or for-two — so whether you want a lighter plate or the full spread, we’ve got you. Feeding a crowd? We also do half and full trays for catering. 🎉
