Happy Labor Day from Carolina Roots Farm! ☀️🐓
We’re still here. We’re still farming. We’ve just been a little quiet.
We owe y’all a little apology for being MIA over the last couple of weeks.
Between preparing the farm for a five-day Tennessee vacation to celebrate my 38th birthday, actually taking the trip, and then coming home to an absolutely insane amount of HVAC work thanks to this heat wave… social media has been pushed pretty far down the list. 😅
The reality is, the farm will always come second to HVAC because that is our bread and butter and what supports our family.
But just because we aren’t posting doesn’t mean we aren’t farming.
Every morning still starts around 5 a.m. with head counts, fence checks, gathering eggs, watering tomatoes, picking peppers, cleaning and refreshing waterers, and putting out hay.
Every evening ends much the same way, with more egg gathering, watering, another head count, another fence check, and making sure everybody is where they belong before bedtime.
During the day, farm life comes along with us on HVAC calls. 😂 We carry a cooler of eggs, and a folder of cut sheets in the truck so we can deliver and sell farm products all over Stokes and Forsyth counties while we’re out repairing and installing HVAC systems.
If you’ve bought eggs from the HVAC truck lately, you already know the farm is still very much alive. 😂
The chickens are still laying.
The sheep are still grazing.
The pigs are still getting fat.
And the goats are still causing absolute chaos. 🤦♀️🐐
The reality of owning two businesses, running a farm, working in HVAC, and raising teenagers is that there just isn’t much time left over for things like social media, building the farm stand, or perfecting jelly recipes to go with our homemade breads.
So we adapt.
Every day we look at what needs to be done, what absolutely has to happen, and what can wait until tomorrow...or cooler weather.
And sadly, Facebook is usually one of the things that can wait. 😂
When life slows down a little, we’ll pick back up with more posts, farm updates, projects, recipes, and everything else we’ve been working toward.
Until then, just know that we are still here, and we are still farming!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, egg orders, available animals, or pig shares. We may be slow to post, but we’re still happy to hear from you.
And most importantly, THANK YOU.
Both of our small businesses are beyond thriving, and that blessing is because of people like YOU who continue to support our family, recommend us, buy from us, share our posts, and trust us with your homes and your tables.
We are incredibly grateful. ❤️
From our roots, to your table,
Amanda & Chris
