I am good at farming outdoors but terrible at keeping inside plants among the living. So when this little begonia from last season actually grew back and bloomed, I was so ecstatic! It survived! 🥰

If you just want to "shop the flower bunches" you can visit CK Morgan and Company on the weekends. Flower bouquets are available all growing season, every weekend, at CK Morgan until sold out.

Normally this time of year I should be starting to see these beauties rebound. However this year, the heat is actually burning the petals of my dahlias before they can even bloom!

So I plan to cut back 😥 all my dahlias and get rid of all the flower buds. Hopefully this will give them a chance to focus on stronger stems and possibly blooms closer to the end of September and into October. This late summer heat has pushed them pretty hard this year.

🏵🌼🌿 I think this is worth a second share. My flowers are pesticide free and I don't use preservatives either. Many of us are aware of the benefits of produce being pesticide free but we don't think about the flowers we pick up at the grocery store to gift our family and friends.

The excerpt is from a study done on pesticide exposure of florists in specifically Belgium and the dangers of long exposure. The flowers in the US are often shipped from South American countries and likely contain even higher concentrations than those in Europe, though the below study doesn't get into that.

Sometimes the need to control disease and pests are necessary but the less exposure we receive from pesticides the better. You can always feel good about composting or handling the flowers you purchase from me. The bees, butterflies and hummingbirds thank you too 🙂
