Life lately…

☀️ Summer break is finally here and, let me tell you, we have hit the ground running…cleaning barns, shaving dogs, filling orders, and caring for a wild herd of growing baby goats! We haven’t even planted our garden, but thanks to a long growing season here, we still have time.

✂️ All the dogs got their annual shave-down this weekend. Everyone LOVES grooming day…well except for the groomers (me & Delaney🥴) but we finished 3 Pyrenees and 1 Nolan in just 4 hours. That’s a new record for us!

🐐 We have more baby goats than you can shake a stick at…jumping, running, and playing all over the barn. They’ll start heading off to their new homes in a couple of weeks…and while I love all those crazy babies, the calm of a barn with just our OG girls will be a welcomed sight!

🗓️ And finally…we’ve worked our kids to death this past week so we’re taking a little break to unplug and have some fun, starting Friday. If you need something, go ahead and place an order in the next day or two. After that, orders will be processed during the week of 6/15.

🍳 I almost forgot, we do have 4 dozen eggs available this week. $5/dozen. Let me know if you need any. Driveway pick up from our farm or pick up from Richard at the Eastanollee Cannery.

Hey friends,

I hope you all had a blessed and meaningful Easter.

We spent the weekend camping, playing in the woods, and celebrating our risen Savior, such a sweet time together.

We wrapped up our spring break week by taking Doug, Nigel & Eleaner Rigby for their annual exam/vaccines. Everyone checked out healthy and all set for another year…with the exception of having their teeth cleaned this summer. 😅

Laurel kicked off kidding season with two sweet, spotted doelings. We have 8 more gals due to deliver in the coming weeks. Such an exciting time on the Farmstead!

I love this time of year, the tender in-between season when the fields begin to soften, the trees just barely start to bud, and everything feels like it’s holding its breath before the fullness of spring.

It reminds me of Robert Frost’s poem, “Nothing Gold Can Stay.”

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

It doesn’t last long and maybe that’s what makes it so special. I hope you all are enjoying these sweet days as well, friends. 🌱

Last Sunday, the snow was just starting to melt. School had already been called off for Monday, the Cannery was going to be closed, and we were completely caught up on orders. I remember telling Richard, “I’m going to send out a Snow Day promo code so we’ll have a few orders to work on while we’re all home tomorrow.”

Well…you all absolutely blew us away.
In just 48 hours, over 100 orders came in, and we are still a little speechless.

We feel so humbled and so deeply thankful for the way you continue to show up for our little business. Your support means more to us than we can ever properly put into words. Truly grateful for each and every one of you.

The very last of those Snow Day orders will be shipping tomorrow. Thank you for making what started as a quiet snow day turn into something so special. ❄️
