It's still hot out and now the air quality is not great but I have to tell you about an ice cream place I was at yesterday that was so refreshing that I'm posting about it the next day. Have you heard of Hannah's Soft Serve on Reynolds almost near Dorr Street? Yeah I haven't heard much either but it's relatively newer compared to a lot of Toledo ice cream spots and is now on my sweet craving rotation.
I became a fan of Dole whip on one of my summertime Chicago visits and I'm so glad it's in Toledo now. I REALLY hesitated because my eye was drawn to something called a "Butterscotch Royale Specialty Sundae" (see previous discussion about being Team Butterscotch on my Mr Freeze post) but I wanted something more tropical and light.
Per Hannah's Soft Serve sign Dole Whip is dairy free, gluten free, lactose free, and free of artificial colors and flavors. Yo, that means this is healthy right? I got a small for 4.50 plus a 50 cent cc upcharge and I should have got a baby size because huge. I devoured it anyway and it was sparkingly vibrantly tropical with the pineapple plus I mixed it with their flavor of the week lime and call me Carmen Miranda because I've got a basket of fruit flavors on head.
Super refreshing. They also have a drive thru if you want to spare your lungs this weekend. Get some!
