Released the cows and calves from the Mooternity Ward yesterday.

We will not be posting any available calves until weaning this Fall.

Calves are taking full advantage of the ~Mooternity Ward~ on this sunny day here in Wisconsin!

We have one BWF commercial cow that was given to us as a bottle calf. She had twins this year but only accepted one, so we have Olive the Orphan.
This weekend we "caught" Olive taking things into her own hooves. Two cows have been letting her nurse in addition to their own calves. Olive is still getting bottles but doesn't always finish them some days, so we knew she was getting fed somewhere else also.
In the video, you'll see Olive nursing from Jacki then the 2nd cow(Jewel) she nurses from is standing just behind them. There's another video in the comments also.

So far, we've had 7 calves out of 6 cows ranging from 70lbs(pair of twins) to the last calf being a big ole 125lbs bull calf🤯
BUT every calf came out unassisted and full of energy! Talk about being lucky🍀

Smoke Stack had the right idea this weekend when the daytime highs were only in the single digits here in Wisconsin
Since he was done working his Summer Girls, we brought him back to cover a couple cows that came up open just before Thanksgiving
