I love to talk about this plant. ✨️ Petunia exserta - a native petunia to Brazil. There were only 14 plants found in the wild in 2007. It is the only wild petunia that is solely intended to be pollinated by hummingbirds. It has evolved to be tailored exclusively to them. In 2012, I was given 7 seeds by my hummingbird ba**er friend. Since then I have grown this plant in my garden, collected seeds, and shared them with others. It is an annual and a very easy plant to grow from seed. It's not as showy as the cultivators that you will find in the greenhouses. But it's vibrant red brightens up any spot. And of course, the hummingbirds love it. ❤ Thanks to people's care for this plant, a Google search will show you many places that you can buy this seed. But it does still remain endangered in the wild.

The Virginia Creeper is a vigorous vine that I fight in some places of my yard. I try to keep it our of my lilacs and evergreen trees. I like to make wreaths with the vines. This year I noticed that it was starting to grow up the fence. I got pretty excited about that!! It's native to North America and has beautiful fall colors and the birds eat the berries. Also in this photo is a big Joe pye w**d plant. It was seed blown and has done beautifully in that spot. This is a little wild area in our yard where I feed the birds. And then farther back my veggie garden has a freshly tilled area ready to be filled up with garlic! Garlic is one of my favorite things to grow. Mostly because it over winters and it's just so easy.

I bit of fun...apple c***r vinegar. I love making this. It's so easy to do. So easy that I have another 4 gallons sitting on my counter when I told myself to stop. When I first started this project, I made it without a mother. But eventually mothers start to grow naturally. Now I just toss my extra mother's into the new jars and then they get after it. Is it odd that I call them little babies when I work with them? 🤣🤣 They are alive. So it's hard to ignore that living things do absorb our energy. ❤️ 😅

All our pastures have some milkw**d in them. But this one has the most milkw**d. A lot of it has to do with the fact that the goats are not pushy on the milkw**d. They don't bend it then trample it down. I love when the seeds are ready and the pods start to open up. On windy days, the seeds fly through the air and will move across the entirety of our farm. It looks magical. ✨️ I appreciate all the wild areas here in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. And I'm thankful that my home is a place that feeds my soul.

September 19th is when I took these photos. I was saving the photos to do a year end monarch post, hoping to get more photos of monarchs. But sadly this was the last monarch I have seen.

I have been part of the Monarch Butterfly community for 37 years. And many of those years I tagged and bred monarchs. I'm pleased to say that one of my tagged Monarch was found in Mexico around 15 years ago. It was such fun news for me. I'm not as deeply involved as I used to be but my love for Monarchs has not changed. 🧡

I'm always in awe of migrating animals. And seeing one so small and seemingly delicate does something to my heart and emotions. I wished every one of these beautiful creatures completes his life cycle.

Fly safe and strong little buddy!
