Back in the 80’s, my Na-Na gave me this Ball canning book. I’ve used it so much and it’s tattered, stained and torn on some pages. Every time I pick it up, I think of her. It just makes canning so much more enjoyable for me. I was fortunate enough to obtain some beautiful fresh plums and decided to make a small batch of plum jam. The color of the jam is just beautiful and I know it will taste great on a hot biscuit. I purchased the plums at the Woodbine Farmers Market. They also had tons of other wonderful things for sale. 🌺

It is with so much disappointment that we will not be able to open to the public for blue berry picking this year. Only two rows in the back lot were able to produce berries - those berries are still green and I fear may not ripen at all. The weather conditions this year were not the best for the berries. We are so sad about this but are looking forward to next year. 🫐

We are working to get things ready for opening day. This season is a little different. We were hit with two hard frosts and a drought. We do have berries but not as many as we would like. Our hope is that the warm weather next week will turn these berries blue and we will be able to open. Our season will most likely be short. I’ll be posting opening times as soon as they are available. 🫐🌸🫐

It will be a few weeks before all of the berries are blue but I caught a picture of this sweet little blue berry. Blueberry season is a short season and will be starting soon. Here are a few reminders to help you enjoy berry picking this year.

- Please remember to wear sunscreen, and tick repellent. I also recommend bringing water.

- Feel free to wear ear buds and enjoy picking while listening to whatever you enjoy. We know the bird squawkers are loud but they are necessary.

- We only accept checks or cash as payment for berries.

- Our opening times are 7 am - until 12 usually. If another time suits you, please message me on Facebook and I will do my best to work with you.

We have been getting the farm ready for this season and are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Sour dough baking has been on my list to try for a while. My daughter gave me a very good starter - we got snowed in - the picture is of a first attempt. We ate a piece while it was nice and warm - it was delicious! I think blueberry sour dough muffins are going to be next. 🫐
