Silly me! I thought harvest was over.

My plans today were to get landscape fabric laid out and get my starts in the ground to overwinter for early spring blooms. Up to 20+ mph wind gust has made it challenging, to say the least! I have a system though! I’m blessed to have such a beautiful harvest, but it has taken up quite a bit of time today. It wouldn’t be the first time I was out with a headlamp at night. The cold weather is upon us. I’m trying to get as much accomplished as possible before the weather turns to freezing temps. I’m definitely a list person and always have a running list of things I want to accomplish in the evenings after my full-time job and on the weekends. I’m not quite where I want to be at this weekend so it’s going take a great deal of effort and determination to get it done!

Molly Hart’s is the cutest shop in town, filled with unique vintage and antique treasures. There’s always something new to discover at this special place. It’s a shop I frequent often.

The herb garden is one of my favorite places to find a little peace and quiet. I love tending the garden, watching the bees dance from bloom to bloom, and knowing the pollinators are safe. Everything in my herb garden is grown from organic seed, so I can feel good knowing I’m creating a safe haven for these little creatures that do so much for us. There’s a simple joy in being surrounded by the beauty of the garden and knowing you’re doing a little good along the way!

Farm-grown. Handcrafted in small batches. Naturally nourishing.

Florasage Farm’s Calendula & Chamomile Salve is handcrafted right here on the farm using herbs grown from organic seed. The calendula and chamomile are harvested at their peak and immediately dried, then slowly infused in organic jojoba oil for seven weeks to capture the nourishing properties of the herbs.

I blend the herbal infusion with organic beeswax and vitamin E oil, using only organic ingredients.

Calendula and chamomile make a beautiful combination for dry, sensitive, and irritated skin. Traditionally valued for their soothing and calming properties, this rich salve can be used as a daily moisturizer to help nourish and protect dry skin.

I’ve been putting together more of these sweet bouquets, filled with beautiful dried and everlasting florals.

Everlasting bouquets.

Tucked into the soil, babied and tended to, weeded and watered, and watched as the blooms slowly came to life.

Then it was time to harvest - cut fresh from the field, hung upside down to dry, gathered into bunches, and finally made into bouquets. Stems cut, wrapped in paper, and ready to head home with someone who will love them.🤍

A whole lot of work goes into these flowers. There’s something pretty special about growing them and seeing them make their way from my field to someone’s home. $20.

This year has been tough. My dahlia tubers perished over the winter so I’m without dahlias this year. Well, all but a few plants. I have more tubers coming in the spring. Right now I’m enjoying my herb garden and drying flowers for bouquets.

I brought the applemint with me from Snohomish. It’s over 15 years old! My daughter, Sage loves it when it’s dried for tea. I started the echinacea from seed this past Spring and wasn’t expecting it to bloom at all this year. And oh my goodness, the eucalyptus is going to smell amazing in the dried bouquets. All organically grown right here in the field.
