What an amazing turnout for the 8th Annual Dan Keith Memorial Aeneas Valley Cleanup! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who showed up and helped in any way. Whether you walked a mile, picked up garbage, drove support, hauled bags, checked out equipment, made sandwiches, donated water or supplies, or helped keep things organized, it all mattered.

It takes a whole community to make a day like this work, and today Aeneas Valley showed up.

Thank you for helping keep our valley clean and for helping carry Dan’s memory forward another year. ❤️

♻️ DAN KEITH 8TH ANNUAL VALLEY CLEANUP DAY ♻️

Meet at Aeneas Valley Country Store

We are getting ready for our 8th Annual Valley Cleanup Day and we have some new gear this year! 💛

We purchased new high visibility vests for everyone and new trash grabbers so we can get as many people equipped as possible. If you already have your own grabber, please bring it with you. That will help make sure we have enough for everybody.

Now for the REALLY important part because this comes up every year:

🚨 THIS IS AN ORGANIZED CLEANUP. PLEASE DO NOT START CLEANING THE HIGHWAY ON YOUR OWN BEFORE THE EVENT. 🚨

We take the time to measure and mark each mile and assign specific miles to volunteers. When someone decides to be helpful and cleans the area in front of their house or randomly starts picking up along the highway, it throws off the entire mile assignment system.

We absolutely appreciate the enthusiasm. ❤️ We just need everyone working from the same plan.

Please wait until October 3 and clean ONLY the mile you are assigned.

We’re excited to get everybody together, put those shiny new vests and grabbers to work, and get our valley cleaned up! 💛♻️

Well, here we go.

Samuel Adams Octoberfest has officially arrived at Aeneas Valley Country Store—which means fall is coming whether any of us approved it or not.

This is one of those beers people wait all year for. It’s hearty, smooth, ridiculously popular—and available for a very limited time. We just received our first cases, but “seasonal” means exactly what it sounds like: when it’s gone, it’s gone.

And yes, we are officially the very best place in all of Aeneas Valley to buy Samuel Adams Oktoberfest.

Are we possibly also the only place? Completely irrelevant. Best is best.

Come grab yours before the locals who know better clean us out—and before you become the person saying, “I was going to stop tomorrow.”

❤️ AENEAS VALLEY COMMUNITY AT ITS BEST ❤️

Some things are more than just a project.

Quite a few years ago, this Aeneas Valley historical sign was donated to AVCS and displayed here for our community and visitors to enjoy. Over the years, the original log frame finally reached the end of its life.

That is where Lee Gillette and his beautiful family, Rachelle, Avery, Charlie and Waylon, stepped in.

Together, as a family, they took the sign, cleaned it, preserved it, built this absolutely gorgeous new log frame, and then came out and installed the entire thing.

And they did all of it free of charge.

This was simply their contribution to the community they call home.

I honestly cannot say enough about how beautiful their work is. The craftsmanship is stunning, but what means even more is knowing that this was something they chose to do together as a family.

They gave their time, their labor, their skills and a whole lot of care so that a piece of Aeneas Valley history can continue standing here for everyone to enjoy.

That sign will greet longtime residents, newcomers, families, travelers and future generations for many, many years to come. And now, part of the story behind it will always belong to the Gillette family too.

Lee, Rachelle, Avery, Charlie and Waylon, thank you. Truly.

Thank you for taking care of a piece of our valley’s history.

Thank you for giving your time so generously.

And thank you for showing exactly what makes a small community like ours so damn special.

We will be hosting our annual Labor Day community yard sale September Friday the 4th thru Sunday 6th The hours will be 8-4 pm and the booth fee will be $5 for the entire weekend please sign up at the store!
