Months of feeding, training, early mornings and late nights lead to this week. We’re proud of every young exhibitor who steps into that show ring!

QUICK GRILLING-SAFETY REMINDER

Don’t place cooked meat back onto the same platter that held it raw. Bring a clean plate and clean utensils to the grill for serving.

Use a food thermometer, too:

🍔 Ground meats: 160°F
🍗 Poultry: 165°F
🥩 Whole beef and pork cuts: 145°F, followed by a 3-minute rest

Thursday — Bacon-cheeseburger stuffed peppers

LOW-CARB BACON-CHEESEBURGER STUFFED PEPPERS

Brown Dick Mikey’s ground beef with diced onion, then stir in cooked bacon and a little of your favorite burger sauce.

Spoon the mixture into halved bell peppers, top with cheddar cheese and bake at 375°F until the peppers are tender and the cheese is melted.

Add pickles, tomatoes or shredded lettuce before serving for even more burger flavor!
