To kick off our breeding season (starting this weekend), I figured I'd start posting about planned breedings. Starting with first timers!

Trouble will be my only Nikki daughter to freshen this upcoming year, and I am very excited! She has a lot of body capacity much like her dam, with a little more extension of brisket in her front end. Since she is only a dry yearling at the moment, I can't judge or expect too much from her or her kids yet. However, Jing is a high casein sire! This breeding will result in American kids, but a good chunk of this lineage is French. Extras: wattles possible

Some years are harder than others. I finally decided to sell the Nigerians (there are two left if you are interested!), after pondering it for awhile. We had some losses, including a big hit to our breeding program: Shining Moon Vicarious (just a month before our collection date 😩). I was pretty devastated and only have told a few people who asked about him, but the saying goes: “with livestock comes deadstock”. I am moving on and focusing on some exciting projects for 2026 and 2027 🫣.
