*THC UPDATE*
A few weeks back, we gave an update on the state of affairs on the upcoming potential ban on THC beverages in the nation, and how there were some positive signs that there was some forward momentum on the matter that would result in the federal government coming to terms on its regulation and taxation, effectively ending the ban from ever happening...
Unfortunately, it takes only a few weeks for this positive news to swing in the other direction. Now, what we communicate is far from any official update, and things can always change in a short time span, but sources in the industry that we personally talk to have told us that while there are bills being introduced on a legislative level to regulate and tax any and all THC products, there is still much partisan division about the issue, and pretty much the objective to find common ground is far away from happening. Even though the ban was pushed back to December of this year, it now looks more and more doubtful that any resolution will be found by the end of the year. And if this becomes fact, then that means that stores have less than four months to continue to sell these products before they must be removed from their shelves.
Here in Kansas, we have already seen product availability on some brands become scarce, and several brands that we carry are no longer offered from their distributors for us to order. We do, however, want to let our THC customers know that Vern's Liquor will continue to order and stock what we can for at least a few more months, in fact we have some more brands coming in next week, we intend to keep our shelves stocked for as long as possible!
Fingers crossed that things will change and that the Federal Government will figure this out in time!
