With so much happening in our economy, the last thing we need to be concerned with is food shortages and food safety. You may have been seeing the news that a parasite called Cyclospora, known to cause explosive diarrhea, has been detected in more than 4,000 cases in at least 34 states. As the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention look to contain the outbreak, they have warned people to take special caution when purchasing leafy greens and other vegetables.
Why CEA produce isn't a risk for cyclospora infection?
The parasite is contracted by eating food exposed to human f***s. It is not transmitted by human-to-human contact. It is not even transmitted when an infected person handles food. The most common occurrences are related to people relieving themselves outdoors near farms. The f***l matter can run off toward produce due to irrigation, rainfall, or other causes. CEA produce simply does not carry this risk.

As many of you know, personal health reasons forced us to scale back our growing operations during 2025 (it’s a pain getting old). As a result, we were unable to continue providing our produce at the farmer's market. Fortunately, after some much needed healing, our produce soon will be available again. Our delivery system, however, will not include staffing a booth at the farmer's market. We will be opening our produce store starting in October – stay tuned for our Grand Re-Opening announcement.
