Today, Sweetie Pie Peaches and Zoey moved to their forever home in Wenham. They are joining a flock of four hens and a rooster.

We're delighted to help our Grow Food for Good egg production partners expand their flock💛

Come October, these young ladies will mature to lay eggs and help feed our community members at the Acord Food Pantry 🥚

Today we celebrate all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, and father figures who nurture, guide, teach, and love with patience and strength.🩵

Just as a garden flourishes with care, encouragement, and time, so do the lives touched by the fathers who help us grow.

We love garlic! And here are a few more reasons for you to love garlic too 🤗

Your best insecticide is lurking in your veg rack!
Aphids HATE garlic! To make your own garlic spray, here is a recipe I copy from The Garlic Farm on the Isle of Wight.
1.Peel the cloves from a whole head of garlic and blend with 235ml water.
2.Add a further 700 ml of water to the mix along with 30ml castile/liquid soap.
3.Blend again and then transfer to a clean jar.
4.Leave the mixture to steep overnight, so that the garlic can infuse the liquid with its potent sulphur compounds.
5.Strain it through a muslin cloth or fine mesh strainer to remove the solid garlic pieces (which would otherwise clog the nozzle on your spray bottle).
6.Pour the garlic-infused liquid into a reusable spray bottle and store in the fridge between uses.
7.Spritz plants in the evening, holding the spray about 15-30 cm away from the foliage, and cover both sides of the leaves with an even coating of the garlic pesticide spray.

Another awesome delivery of Grow Food for Good produce, herbs, and fresh eggs to our friends at the Acord Food Pantry 💛🫜💚

Today we are grateful to have given a pound of mustard greens, 15 quart bags of mixed lettuce, a pound of garlic scapes, and bouquets of parsley, cilantro, lemon and common thyme along with 6.5 dozen chicken and 9 duck eggs 🐥🦆
