Sometimes the argument isn’t really about facts, it’s about controlling a narrative.

Rabbits don’t have to be either pets or livestock. They can be both, depending on their purpose and context.

Acknowledging pet rabbits doesn’t threaten agriculture. Acknowledging livestock rabbits doesn’t diminish someone’s companion animal.

We don’t need to control the narrative by pretending only one reality exists. Both can be true.

And maybe most importantly, we can acknowledge those differences while still being kind to one another. Respect doesn’t require agreement, it just requires recognizing that someone else’s relationship with these animals may look different from our own.
