Collins Family Beef

Collins Family Beef Offering home raised, hormone & antibiotic free, grass-fed, low stress, hand cared for, A Why American Aberdeen Cattle? Efficiency. coli bacteria.

We can raise more beef per acre, and leave pasture in better condition than can a traditional stock cow. 3/4 blood Aberdeen cows maintain themselves on almost half the feed that is required by a full size crossbred cow and wean more pounds of calf per acre. Temperament
Aberdeen cattle are easy to handle. The docility of these cattle is second to none. This results in less need for expensive faci

lities and in general a low stress experience for both cattle and handlers. American Aberdeen's are fantastic show prospects for young 4H'ers for this reason. Ideal Locker Beef Size
In today's health conscious society, many people don't want large cuts of beef to eat at one sitting. Smaller carcasses produce smaller cuts. Aberdeen cattle produce exceptional quality tender beef! Grassfed
If you supply pasture and/or hay, Aberdeen's will thrive. Aberdeen's don't require grain to reach full maturity. This is big news as corn prices hover in the $6-7/ bu range. Health Benefits
-Because grassfed meat is so lean, it is lower in calories.
-More health promoting vitamin E and beta carotene
-More omega 3 fatty acids (considered a good fat). Omega 3 originates in the green leaves of plants and algae. Although grassfed meat is low in "bad" fat (including saturated fat), it gives you from two to six times more of a type of "good" fat called "omega-3 fatty acids."
- Three to five times more CLA. In early research studies CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) looks to be one of the most potent cancer fighters.
-Less total fat and calories. Grain is used to speed growth and add bulk, so it makes for fattier animals.
-Less omega 6. Grain is high in omega 6 fatty acids.
-Decreased risk of E. Additional American Aberdeen Benefits:
Genetically pure Angus bloodlines
Naturally polled - no horns
No dwarf gene
Calving ease
Excellent maternal traits
Small Farm/Acreage Friendly

Use American Aberdeen Genetics to:
Irradicate calving problems
Moderate frame size
Incorporate muscle and high quality red meat yield in a feed efficient package
Dominate grass fed beef production
