A Little Farm Life 🐄

Sometimes the best farm photos don't need much explanation. ❤️

A mama and her little one enjoying a beautiful September day on pasture here in Central New York.

Scenes like this are a good reminder that before the creamery, before the churn, and before anything makes its way to your table, it all begins on the farm.

And we think these two make pretty good representatives. 🐄🌱

Give them a little love in the comments!

The September Butter Question 🧈🍎

September has a way of changing what sounds good.

Now we're starting to think about warm apple crisp, roasted squash, mashed potatoes, fresh bread, and all those meals that make the kitchen smell like fall.

So here's today's question:

What's the first dish you make every year that officially makes it feel like fall?

Bonus points if Kriemhild Butter is involved. 😉

We may just borrow some of your answers for a future Recipe of the Month!

There are biscuits…and then there are biscuits made with Kriemhild Butter and Buttermilk. 🧈

In this video, Amanda takes us into the kitchen to show just how delicious simple, homemade biscuits can be when you start with really good ingredients.

Flaky, buttery, golden, and made for pulling apart while they're still warm—preferably with another generous pat of Kriemhild Butter on top. Because there's really no such thing as too much butter on a biscuit.

A very special thank you to the wonderful Amanda Fowski for bringing her personality, voice, and kitchen skills to Kriemhild! You can learn more about Amanda and her professional voiceover work at AmandaFowskiVO.com.

Now we have to ask: What are you putting on your biscuit—more butter, jam, honey, gravy…or all of the above?

There are certain foods where butter is optional.

And then there are foods where skipping the butter should probably be illegal. 😉

Fresh sweet corn. A warm dinner roll. Mashed potatoes. Toast straight from the toaster. A baked potato. Pancakes. A warm muffin split down the middle.

So we're putting the question to you:

What food absolutely HAS to have butter on it?

And more importantly—are you a reasonable-butter person, or a "keep going, that's not enough" person?

We have a feeling we know which group our followers belong to.

September in Central New York is one of those wonderful in-between seasons.

The sweet corn is still coming in, tomatoes are everywhere, apples are beginning to make their appearance, and cooler evenings are starting to hint at the fall meals ahead.

And fortunately, Kriemhild butter goes just as well with an ear of August sweet corn as it does with a warm apple crisp in September. 🧈

What local ingredient are you most excited to cook with this month?

🌻 Don't let summer slip away without a trip to the Kriemhild Kupboard.

Late August in Central New York means farm stands overflowing, gardens producing faster than we can keep up, and plenty of meals built around whatever is fresh that day.

If Kriemhild is on your shopping list, you don't have to wait for market day. Stop by the Kriemhild Kupboard, stock up on your favorites, and take a look around at the other local products while you're here.

What's one local food you're trying to eat as much of as possible before summer is over?

🧈 Not all butter begins in the same place.

Kriemhild Meadow Butter starts with milk from cows raised on pasture, and that connection between the land, the cows, and the finished product is at the heart of what we do.

Then we take good cream and do something surprisingly simple with it: make really good butter.

Rich, creamy, and equally at home melted over fresh sweet corn, tucked into a baked potato, or spread generously across a piece of warm bread.

What's your favorite way to use Kriemhild butter this time of year?

🚜 Forklift Driving School: Kriemhild Edition

There’s a lot more to making butter than churning cream—and sometimes that means learning your way around a forklift!

A little behind-the-scenes fun from the Kriemhild crew as we practice one of the many skills it takes to keep things moving around here. Everyone has to start somewhere. 😄
