We had an awesome time decorating our Halloween cakes yesterday! Huge thanks to all of our participants, you guys did great! Also, a big thank you to Nautical Treasures On Broad for all their help coordinating this event ♡ Don't forget we have a kids holiday cupcake wreath class & Santa cake decorating class still available.

It was a Sunday afternoon the summer before we opened the shop to the public. A couple cars pulled up and a group came to the door. Angus introduced himself and said they were out cruising and wanted to have a drink. I told him we weren't open yet and wasn't able to sell them anything, but I could offer them one of our own drinks. We spent the next few hours chatting with his gang, sharing stories and cold beers.
Every visit after that was like catching up with old friends.
Thank you for the wonderful memories Mr. Angus, hope you're behaving in heaven!
Richmond Hill Farmers Market

I’m so sad to hear about the passing of Angus McLeod.

We always called Angus the “Godfather” of the Richmond Hill Farmers Market. When our team decided to bring the market back to town, he was such an incredible resource for us. He knew so much about Richmond Hill, its history and its people — and he absolutely loved talking about it. I loved that about him because this is my hometown too, and you could tell how much he genuinely cared about this community.

Angus was also one of the BEST storytellers. If you sat down to talk with him, you were probably going to be there awhile.

Over the years we talked about everything — the market, politics, Richmond Hill, how much things had changed and what we hoped for our town. He was always encouraging and always willing to share his knowledge or give advice. And he always showed up for others!

He became a mentor and a friend not just to me, but to so many of us who have been part of the Farmers Market team over the years, past and present.

I’m really grateful I got to know him, learn from him and hear so many of those stories firsthand. Richmond Hill lost someone who truly loved this little town and knew so much of its story.

We’ll miss you, Angus. And I know the Farmers Market wouldn’t be what it is without you being part of its story. 💚
