I was a Vet Tech for 16 years and ended up with a farm due to how many unwanted animals were left at animal hospitals. Owners willing to euthanize just to be rid of them or moving reasons. I left the field to stay at home with my 7 kids and all my furchildren too. My 1st horse was given to me by my husband before we were married, and then he introduced me to Dill's auction. The things I saw there,
treatment to animals for slaughter and such, I left many times crying. Then I started going weekly. Got to know the buyers who were there for butchering and who was there to increase their livestock. I started bidding against the butchers for rabbits, geese, turkey's, a pair of alpaca's and here we are. I even went as far as buying 35 guinea pigs to keep them from being butchered! Now we rescue injured animals, reptiles, birds, cats, dogs, and livestock if we have the room. We rehab them and rehome or adopt out. All of which require a contract to protect them and the new forever owner!
