Deer Ridge Farms~Nubian and Nigerian Dairy Goats

Deer Ridge Farms~Nubian and Nigerian Dairy Goats Raising show quality Registered Nubians for 13 years. This past year we have added the Nigerian Dwarf to our herd.

Our primary interest is showing and producing show quality animals. We have been raising Registered Nubians for 13 years, and decided last year with heavy influence from our boys to add the Nigerian Dwarf breed to our herd. All of our goats are bottle fed on pasteurized milk. Lee's primary interest is showing and producing show quality animals. The Nubian herd originated from Kismet, and Foxwood,

heavily influenced by the Frosty Marvin genetics. Most recently Lee added LakeShore and really loves what he is getting. The Nigerian herd is currently influenced by Pecan Hollow, Piddlin Acres and TX Twin Creeks bloodlines.

The newest addition from CA! I've always admired Lakeshore Mira's Easter Lily! So excited to have a son from her! Sired by J&R Spirit's HT-K Kaitai this guy combines strong Nubian genetics. Should complement the Kharm kids nicely!
Many thanks to Lakeshore for allowing us to add this guy to our herd!

First kids of the season today! After a year hiatus CH Deer Ridge Farms Buttercup kidded with three kids sired by Lakeshore Real Indian Summer. Two bucks and one doe, one buck and the doe will be retained but one buck is for sale. Buttercup finished as a two year old, and has a super strong mammary system. This is an exciting cross that really emphasizes on the prepotent "S" line from Lakeshore. I will get some pictures soon!

I am going to offer my Hoegger two goat milker for sale. It is in great shape. I have been using the vacuum pump to date, and had upgraded to a larger bucket for the dairy. I need to upgrade yet again and get a larger pump. I will not be using this system. I have the vacuum pump, two buckets, inflations for Nigerian and full size. All in great shape. Let me know if interested.

OK, so I had a sale on one of my Nigerian bucks fall through due to transport up north. So, I will post again that I have him.
For Sale, NC Promised Land Mystic Blue. His dam is NC Promised Land PAL Macarena, and sire is Caesar's Villa STS Sharpie.
His dam needs no introduction, her phenomal udder was one of the best I ever saw. I saw her before her trip to Nationals at a local show, and bought Blue before Macarena went on to be BIS that day! I can provide more information if you like. His maternal sister was in the spotlight sale, and did quite well. Let me know if interested!

OK, I am going to post a Memorial Day Special! I have 3 Nigerian Dwarf mature does left. Interestingly enough, two of them, I feel were the best I had, and were overlooked. I have TX Twincreek G Spicy Pepper, Pecan Hollow Tierra, and a kid off of TX Twincreeks MS Bellas Wishx TX Twincreeks Edge of Twilight. I will take 900 for all three. I don't care how it happens as long as all three go at same time.

Here is doe out of TX Twincreeks G Spicy Pepper and our buck TX Twincreeks Edge of Twilight. She freshened this year for the first time, early with two premature bucks. I milked her long enough to know that she has a super nice udder. Really nice medial and a lot of height and width to the rear. She is really long, and sharp too. A nice doe! All three of these does are still available.

Here is Pecan Hollow Z Tierra. She is out of AGS Pecan Hollow GL Rose and Pecan Hollow PS Zuzak. She is still my favorite Nigerian that we had! For some reason I only showed her once, and she was second in both rings. The first place doe changed in both rings, but Tierra was second under both judges. This was a large competitive two year old class. I let a kid get out, and she was slightly uneven that day.... I really like her, and feel she would be a great addition to any herd!

I thought I would post a few pictures of some really nice does still available from our Nigerian Dwarf herd. Here is TX Twincreeks G Spicy Pepper. She is out of GCH TX Twincreeks MS Maid of Honor and Piddlin Acers BD Ginseng. Spicy has been a consisent producer of quality offspring, always triplet does. Her udder is wide, with one of the best medials we had. She has matured into a really nice doe!

Good luck to all exhibitors at Carrolton, GA today! Unfortunately, my best handler has a basketball tournament!

It is with regret, however we will be offering the entire Nigerian Dwarf herd for sale. It is a little more complicated than expected, and with the limited space we have it is too difficult to manage two breeds. My passion has always been Nubians, and we want to focus our time and energy on continuing to improve the Nubian herd.
We feel we have a very strong foundation line of Nigerian Dwarfs to work with. All that we have shown were in the top 5 or 6 of large classes, and topped several! We worked hard to start with the best genetics we could get. Does/bucks are directly from TX Twincreeks, Piddlin Acres, Pecan Hollow, J-Nels, and NC Promised Land. We like all of the Nigerian animals here, and would be happy to discuss strength/weakness of any of them. Any of the animals can certainly add strengths to any breeding program! Please feel free to contact me at 864-723-2809 or [email protected] if interested.
