After a lot of thought, I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision that by the end of this year, I will be retiring from raising and showing rabbits and dispersing my herd.
This is definitely not a decision I’ve made lightly. Rabbits have been such a big part of my life, and this hobby has brought me so many wonderful memories, friendships, experiences, and animals that I will always be grateful for.
But life changes, and so do our priorities. I run a business, I’ve spent years running a race series, and now my daughter is getting older and becoming more involved in her own activities—especially racing. As I get older, I’ve also found myself thinking a lot more about where I want to spend my time and energy.
There are only so many hours in a day, and I’ve realized that I don’t want to keep taking time away from my family in order to try to do everything. I want to be more present for this chapter of our lives, especially while my daughter is still young enough to want us right there beside her.
I will still be attending Convention this year, and I’m looking forward to enjoying it and seeing everyone. Over the coming months, I’ll slowly begin making decisions about my herd and finding the right homes for them. My goal is to have my herd dispersed by the end of the year.
This hobby and the people I’ve met through it have meant so much to me, which is exactly why this decision has been so hard. But sometimes closing one chapter gives you the time and space to fully enjoy the chapter you’re in.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, shown alongside me, purchased rabbits from me, trusted my program, and simply been a friend along the way. I’m incredibly grateful for all of it. ❤️
Here’s to enjoying Convention, making a few more memories, and finishing this chapter on a good note.
