When raising livestock there is bound to be an issue every once in awhile. The management team had scheduled the monthly weight collection this Wednesday and when we brought them up, one was abnormally breathing. Students actively engaged in preparing the animal and administering medication properly to treat the issue. Thank you Brian Ferris and the Setser family for your assistance!

We’ve had a busy start to the semester! We were fortunate to receive a $2,500 grant from Corteva with the help of Kelly Backscheider toward the purchase of a new livestock trailer! The school assisted with the purchase and we were able to take our inaugural trip with it taking our first steer of the school year to Maxwell Meats. We also need to thank Main Trailer Sales for working with us to find the right trailer to meet our needs.

The management team has been working hard the first month of school on general maintenance of the farm to keep our livestock healthy.
