There's so many things about growing & raising food that remind me to thank my creator. I've never left my garden with a wheelbarrow full of food(goals). These handful harvests remind me the Lord will give me what I need for the day. Tomorrow's troubles are for tomorrow.

So the girls completely quit laying when we had that last cold spell. I pulled organ meats from the freezer. Boiled them & fed them to the chickens. After 3 days; the girls are back at it! Love raising our own animals so that we have access to things you wouldn't normally find in a store. Also love utilizing every part of the animal that we spent so much time taking care of.

The only thing I love more than feeding my people is; feeding them a meal that is 90-100% grown on our farm. This pot of Zuppa Tuscano checks that box. The only thing that didn't come from our dirt is the onion & cream. Sidenote: if anyone has tips for growing onions, I'm all ears!!

me by surprise how emotional this made me. Its just a fence. Theres just something iconic about a wooden fence on a farm. Maybe thats why I fell in love with it when we first bought the property. Its housed horses, pigs, sheep & chickens. I think what made me sad is thinking about all the growing up &call the lessons learned by the humans done on this fence.

Somehow the garden is still cranking out a few tomatoes. Can't think of a better way to celebrate than bacon!!

Thankful for a little slow season on the farm. No pigs on the farm right now makes for light work. But the garden is in full swing! Def the best fall garden I've ever had!

Peppers are coming in hot! Was able to make smoked pablano salsa, pickle some peppers & even make some chili powder. This was a first for me! Just dehydrated the peppers in my instantpot & blended. Can't wait to make chili!!

Nothing like a rainy morning to get some gardening work done! I lasagna layer my beds & I was way overdue to refill with dirt. First time using this company, so I cant speak to how well veggies grow; but it sure was nice not to have to haul 30+ bags of soil from the store!
