Our honey! So exciting to get our first taste of our honey. Last year we started with 2 new hives from a SC bee farm. However, they never did very well and didnt make it through the winter. We decided to leave the boxes out and hope we could catch a swarm of bees, and we did!! They are doing so much better than the ones we bought! We don’t feed the bees sugar water or do any chemical mite treatments.

Lunch with Fred, and one of my red roses bloomed….hopefully by next year all the heirloom roses I planted this year will bloom like crazy.

Just a few things around the farm: stuffing cushions with wool, making homemade mayo for the first time, drying rose petals, and letting the sheep test the new cattle fence before getting cows.

This weeding tool has made this job so much easier. The asters from last year will need to be dug out but everything else comes up easily.
