Horseshoe Farm

A beyond-organic, regenerative farm in Greenville SC, focusing on building healthy soil and habitat

Just like some leaves and flowers are now leafing out and blooming, this farmer is now emerging from his dormancy. As much as I cherish the slower pace of the off season, it’s good to get back to working with the land..
The winter break from the grind included: the annual trip to visit family, a barn cleaning (still lots of work to be done), and a trip with friends to Costa Rica..
…turns out that’s also where Santa goes after his busy season..

Can’t believe it’s the last market already 🤯
In honor of the last market, I’m doing an end of summer sale, $10 Charleston Gray Watermelons 🍉
Come see us off tomorrow morning!

Happy Labor Day!
I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t laborin’ on Labor Day, at least for a bit…
But between harvesting for CSA, restaurants, the farmers market, and seeding/planting like crazy for the fall/winter… it’s just what it is.
At least I have something cold to drink in this heat.. cheers!

For those who signed up (or signed back up) for our Fall Farmshare, here’s a sneak peak at what might be in your first bag next week, September 6…
Thank you all for your (continued) support of the farm and this program!
I’m excited to get back to our weekly pickups or !

A huge thank you to and the wonderful staff that came out to volunteer at the farm today!
All those extra hands helped harvest a couple hundred pounds of carrots and potatoes and even weeded some basil!
So nice to have some food-friends right down the road!
Can’t wait for the Tomato Dinner at tomorrow night!

Happy Solstice!!
This is my 10th summer solstice as a farmer. None have outdone that first one up on Max Patch with Farmer George.

Since I’ve picked a good bit of bunches that have the “lover carrots” in them today, I thought it would be fun to do something with them…
If you mention this post and grab a bunch of carrots that have the “lover carrots” in them at the tomorrow morning, I’ll give you a free bunch of broccolini!
Same applies for the large bunches of freak mutants I’ve assembled, and been referring to as “the funky bunch”…
Tell yo friends… come early for the best chance, since we’ve been selling out.. and please don’t destroy the massive pile of carrots I’ll have 😂

All set up and ready for ya!

05/12/2023

We’re gonna have another beautiful spread at the tomorrow morning! Come on out and grab some of this gorgeous produce, but come early, because it goes quick!

I just LOOOOVE it when the weather washes my produce off for me.
