Looking for something fun to do this weekend? How about the Michigan House: Winter Social presented by Michigan House and The Little Fleet - inside our heated tent with fire pits! Featuring Michigan Made music, food, beer, and spirits.

Michigan House, spearheaded by Creative Many, the statewide organization focused on Michigan’s creative economy, will be stopping by Traverse City on its way to South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, TX! Musical acts from around the state will be traveling to perform at the Winter Social:

The last Thursday night dinner of the season from A Matter of Taste at Tapawingo near Ellsworth is a 4-course Puerto Rican Dinner with Miriam Pico and David Chown. Miriam is just back from visiting family and delivering aid to those affected by Hurricane Maria. It may be winter outside, but Tapawingo will bringing the topics inside featuring traditional flavors from the island including tostones, salt cod ceviche, adobo pork chops with pigeon peas and rice, and tropical fruit salad dessert created using family recipes from some of their favorite Puerto Rican-American citizens.

Your ears will delight in the sounds of Miriam (Miriam Pico Music), whose warmth, charm and vocal stylings light up the room along with frequent collaborator and accomplished pianist David Chown!

Who's thinking bubbles for the holidays? If that's you, consider this event Monday night at Martha's Leelanau Table featuring 5 bubblies provided by Great Lakes Wine and Spirits along with some great apps from Martha!

On Monday December 18th from 6-8, Katie Anderson of Great Lakes Wine and Spirits will provide 5 bubblies from around the world and we will provide some small appetizers to go with them for $15 per person. It’s a good time to stock up or just get a few great bottles for Christmas and New Years.

Good news for Cooks' House fans via the Traverse City Ticker:

Those unable to land a reservation at The Cooks' House can now experience chefs Jennifer Blakeslee and Eric Patterson’s food at a fast-casual eatery opening across the street from the duo’s restaurant on Wellington Street.

Milkweed is a new year-round food stall launching this weekend within the The Little Fleet that will offer both meat and vegetarian takes on global street food staples, including curry, a Korean bowl, and a döner kebab, a popular Turkish sandwich featuring house-made pita bread from 9 Bean Rows. A fourth rotating option – which could range from a Hawaiian plate to a Mexican breakfast entrée – will round out the menu, according to Blakeslee.

“We’ve been looking for a food truck for five years, and for the last three years we’ve been talking about putting a food stall up (at The Little Fleet),” she says. “It needed to be the right time, and the time now feels right.”

Soup and Bread-Traverse City returns TONIGHT (Oct 16) to The Little Fleet There's a great lineup of chefs and community members serving up soup for Crosshatch Center for Art & Ecology from 6-8 pm. Common Good Bakery will be donating bread all season long!

Soup & Bread is a monthly winter food event at The Little Fleet with community donated soup and bread. Donations encouraged to benefit Traverse Area charities.

The Empire Hops & Harvest Festival takes place tomorrow from noon - 10PM in Empire, Michigan. A great lineup of food & drink in celebration of the hop harvest!

The annual Empire Hops & Harvest Festival returns this Saturday (Oct 7) from 12-10 PM. It's an annual celebration of a successful hops harvest with live music from Jackpine, 5th GEAR Band, brotha James, and K.Jones & the Benzie Playboys, local food from Art's Tavern Glen Arbor, Mama Lu's - A Modern Day Taco Shop, Pleva's Meats, Nepalese Have Another, Dickey's Barbecue Pit, Scalawags Whitefish I Fresh Great Lakes Fish | Downtown Traverse City, and Shipwreck Cafe.

The Groundwork Center invites you to an evening of fabulous food, local libations, and lively entertainment. Groundwork's Harvest at The Commons is an annual farm to table community feast at the historic grounds of the Grand Traverse Commons held this Saturday, October 7th.​
