With the help of some awesome friends, we harvested nearly five bins of Pinot Gris from Havencrest Farm and the M45 Farm yesterday.

It was a long day of picking, but we got it all harvested and delivered.

The 2026 Pinot Gris harvest is officially complete!

A few months ago, Dirt to Glass Annual Conference described Day 2 at Lone Silo Vineyard as an opportunity to โ€œdig deeperโ€ into the fundamental role of soil in shaping vineyard performance and w**e quality.

Today, we got to do exactly that.

We dug two soil pits throughout the vineyard, explored our clay-dominant soils, and looked beneath the vines to better understand whatโ€™s happening from the soil surface all the way down to the root zone.

It was especially rewarding to hear Christie Apple of Christie Lee Apple share her knowledge about our soil and Andrew Backlin of Modales Wines share his perspective as a buyer and w**emaker working with Lone Siloโ€™s grapes.

The soil beneath our feet became part of the conversation about vine growth, vineyard character, and ultimately, what ends up in the glass.

A huge thank you to Dirt to Glass Annual Conference for bringing Day 2 to Lone Silo, and to everyone who came out and got their hands dirty with us. ๐Ÿท

Even though itโ€™s cloudy, itโ€™s the perfect day to wrap up hedging and leaf pulling in the Pinot Gris block. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‡

A little overcast weather makes vineyard work a bit more comfortable, and opening up the fruit zone helps improve airflow, sunlight pe*******on, and ultimately fruit quality as harvest gets closer.

Every pass through the vineyard brings us one step closer to harvest. ๐Ÿท
