Apple Hill is a beautiful orchard located in the mountains of East Tennessee established in 1996. Jorma Eskola planted the orchard in phases and there are currently over 200 trees with many different varieties. These include Cortlands, Macintosh, Fugi, Gala, Braeburn, Golden Grimes, Granny Smith, Ginger Gold, Mutsu, Liberty, Winesap, Red Delicious and Arkansas Black. With so many types of apples,

The orchard is sleeping under its winter blanket.
The bees are snug in their Bee Cozies.
And we are inside next to our wood burner preparing with positive anticipation of a good honey crop by making medium frames. 🤩

LAST WEEKEND🥹
Picking has slowed to almost a halt! This will be the last weekend but be warned the picking is difficult at this time and the reward isn’t what it was last year! If you have far to drive, I’d say you may want to hold off. 🥺
This season was short but we suspected it would be.
Thank you to all who came out and supported us we are so grateful!
Hopefully next year will be a bit better!

We are OPENING- BUT limited days!!!!
Apple Hill will open Aug 15th!
We are opening with limited dates - Open Fridays and Saturdays (until end of season post) and Labor Day (the only Monday). If these days change - I'll make a post!
Due to the late frosts and the major pruning we did, the crop this year is reduced a bit. BUT there are still lots there that need to be picked and used for all the delicious apple recipes! As a heads up, the picking won't be as easy but the apples that are good are just as delicious!
Apple Prices for 2025 (no change from last year)
1/2 bushel-1bag-$25
1 bushel-2bags-$40
1 1/2 bushels-3bags-$60
2 bushels - 4 bags -$75
The more you pick the cheaper the bushel!
As always when you arrive, Mum had bags and orchard maps on the front porch. She will let you know which varieties are ready. Some mature earlier than others. As the season progresses, more apples varieties will be ready. 🍎🍏
