Mamas don’t let your babies grow up to forget that food costs more than money 🎶

Food doesn’t only cost money. Meat doesn’t start in the store, it starts as a life. You raise an animal from a piglet or a chick or a calf, you know its personality, you love it a little (and try not to name it) and then one day you look it in the eyes and say thank you before you say goodbye.

It’s not cruelty, it’s just the deal. That’s what it actually costs.

Sometimes we cry, sometimes we don’t. Both are okay, but we never do it without saying thank you, and we never let our kids grow up thinking food starts at the grocery store.
