Box Elder County Fair 2026 looked a little different for us this year! 🎡🐐🤠
Monday night we kicked off fair week at the Novelty Goat Show, where local youth showed our goats and had a great time! I love sharing our animals with these kids and watching them enjoy the fair. ❤️
We decided not to do a float in the parade this year. Sometimes you have to face your limitations and admit you can’t do it all. Hopefully next year! As it turns out, that was probably for the best because my kidneys decided to rain on my parade anyway. 🙄
I spent Wednesday in the ER passing a kidney stone. I’m a frequent flyer with these things, but they never get more pleasant! This one brought an infection along with it, so I’d be perfectly content to lay around all day. Unfortunately, that’s not reality when you’ve got work and a farm to keep going. 😂 But I’m on the upswing!
We made it to one night of the rodeo, though, and that was definitely a highlight. ❤️ My nephew has wanted to bring his girls for years. I think the last time they came, their oldest was just a baby!
Our fair is tricky for our out-of-county family because it falls during the last week of our summer. We don’t start school until after the fair, but most nearby districts have already started. And as all Box Elder County residents know…getting rodeo tickets is basically like winning the lottery. 😂 So a school night it was!
The girls loved every minute they stayed. Thank you, Luke and Maddie, for running up after work on a school night so we could make memories together. I consider these girls much more like my granddaughters than my great-nieces, and I treasure every second with them. ❤️
And somehow, despite it being FAIR WEEK, we haven’t even walked through the livestock barns yet! No chocolate-covered strawberries. No deep-fried Oreos. No Navajo taco. I’m not sure we can officially say we’ve been to the fair. 😂
Maybe tomorrow after Farmers Market we’ll make up for lost time and end the Box Elder County Fair 2026 with a bang! 🎡🐄🍓🤠
It may have looked different this year, but I’m grateful for the memories we squeezed in. ❤️
