If you've ever planted anything in your life, you've probably spent some time w**ding. While w**ding for 20 minutes may feel satisfying, w**ding has a nasty habit of creeping into the profit margin of any farm, regardless of size. This year, Roo Crew Farms is enlisting in year 2 of data collection to determine what w**d control method works best on our farm. With a little patience and a lot of data collection we hope to grow a better crop more sustainably.

Happy Valenbirthday!! ❤️🎂 I was born on February 14, it’s like the Lord KNEW I would spend my life being obsessed with flowers. Since my birthday falls on a holiday My sweet partner supports me in celebrating Birthweek. It’s kind of our last big thing before he starts calving/big farm responsibilities and things start kick up on the flower farm. This week, he brought me new flowers EVERY day! So all week I just kept adding to my vases. Would I describe these designs as light and airy? No… not at all! But I love them!

Thursdays are for checking in on Roo Crew Plant trials. Meet prairie pearls sorghum at sunrise

The goal: avoid cross pollination so we can collect seed that’s true to color.

Why: working at our farm is more than a job. We strive to create a learning experience that fits each member of our crew. Plant biology, w**d biology, economic analysis, marketing, and so much more.
