Today, we honor and celebrate the life of Ron Losinski on what would have been his 90th birthday!
Ron was one of those rare people who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. In 1992, he began working at The Berry Patch for Brian Kriesel, and from that day forward, he became much more than an employee. He became family to the Kriesels, an icon in the berry world, and a cherished friend to countless customers who looked forward to seeing him each season.
Ron had a personality like no other. He was funny, witty, unique, loving, and always willing to lend an ear when someone needed one. He genuinely cared about people. He remembered birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions, often leaving long voicemails just to wish someone a happy birthday or call “just because.” Those thoughtful gestures made people feel seen, remembered, and loved.
One of Ron’s greatest joys was giving. He was constantly on the move around town in his van, delivering baked goods, Omaha Steaks, thrift-store treasures, and little surprises to friends and family. He found happiness in making others smile and had a heart of gold that never stopped giving.
Ron was also an incredible baker. His pies became legendary among those who knew him, and he loved sharing his creations with others. His generosity was woven into everything he did.
Holidays spent with Ron were unforgettable. There was never a dull moment when he was around. His stories, humor, and larger-than-life personality filled every gathering with laughter and joy. His spring shoes & the lei’s around his neck will be how he’s remembered!
Before returning home to Wisconsin, Ron lived a life full of adventure. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and often shared stories of driving Rolls-Royces across the country. He spent many years working for American Airlines in Palm Springs, a career that allowed him to enjoy travel long after retirement through his flying benefits.
Travel remained one of Ron’s favorite pastimes. He made many memorable trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada, with the Kriesel girls. Those vacations were filled with shopping, trying their luck at the Golden Nugget, and enjoying the massive seafood buffets that became part of the tradition. The casino brought Ron great joy, and nothing made him happier than hitting a royal flush. Justin, Courtney & Ron went to London together, where they flew first class & made lots of memories together!
Eventually, Ron returned to Trempealeau, where he joined Brian at The Berry Patch and spent the remainder of his life doing what he loved most—connecting with people, sharing kindness, and enjoying life along the river. Those years reflected who Ron truly was: a man who valued relationships, community, laughter, and simple pleasures.
Above all else, Ron loved deeply. He loved his friends, cherished his family, and was proud of his country. His faith was the foundation of his life, and his love for God guided the way he treated others—with compassion, generosity, humility, and grace. The kindness he showed so freely was a reflection of the values he held close to his heart.
Ron leaves behind a legacy of generosity, friendship, faith, and love. He touched countless lives through his kindness, humor, unwavering thoughtfulness, and servant’s heart. Though he is deeply missed, the memories he created continue to bring smiles to those who knew him.
Happy 90th Birthday, Ron.
