What if one tool could completely change the way we think about soil disturbance?

On the latest episode of the Root Cause Ag Podcast, we sit down with Jim Martindale, the visionary behind the Curse Plow, to talk about challenging conventional tillage and rethinking how we manage soil structure.

If you’ve ever questioned “the way it’s always been done”

We want to give a big shoutout and wish the best of luck to our 2025 summer intern, Taylor Hickerson, as she prepares to compete in the Agriscience Fair at the Tennessee FFA Convention next week! đŸ’›đŸŒ±đŸ’™

Taylor is an active member of Peabody FFA and spent her summer working hands-on with us, diving into the world of soil health and biological products. Her Agriscience Fair project is built around the real-world findings she gathered while working with Holganix products — turning field experience into meaningful research.

We’ve loved watching her curiosity, work ethic, and passion for agriculture grow, and we couldn’t be more proud to see her take this next step.

Taylor, we’re cheering you on and can’t wait to see all that you accomplish!

Good luck at convention — you’ve already made us proud!

Please join us in cheering on Taylor and all of the Peabody FFA members and advisors as they head into competition next week!

The most important part of your field
 you can’t even see.

It’s not the leaves.
It’s not the stalks.
It’s not even the yield monitor.

It’s the soil biology beneath your feet.

A single teaspoon of healthy soil can contain billions of microorganisms working around the clock to support plant growth.

These tiny workers help:
đŸŒ± Unlock nutrients plants can actually use
đŸŒ± Improve soil structure and water movement
đŸŒ± Build organic matter
đŸŒ± Support stronger root systems

The truth is, soil isn’t just dirt.
It’s a living system.

And when that system is healthy, everything above ground has a better chance to thrive.

Building healthy soil doesn’t happen overnight — it’s the result of intentional management over time.

But farmers who prioritize soil health often see:
✔ Better nutrient efficiency
✔ Stronger crop resilience
✔ Long-term productivity

Take care of the soil
and it will take care of the crop.

What’s one practice you’ve implemented that’s helped improve your soil?
