These apple muffins were the perfect way to finish up using the half bushel that I got from our local orchard. They are perfect for breakfast or just a sweet treat in the go. Recipe in the comments.

It’s August and I’m totally done processing tomatoes, but my garden isn’t done giving me free food! Literally the first two tomatoes paid for all the plants in my garden and the rest of this is free. That means free, tomato sauce, free, pasta sauce, free, pizza, sauce, free, tomato paste.
At the end of the summer gardening can seem a little bit like a chore, but remember you are feeding you and your family with good clean produce.

Pesto sounds fancy and I guess it tastes fancy but it’s so easy to make. All you need is fresh basil, pine nuts, garlic, and some good quality olive oil. Stick that stuff in a food processor then put it in some ice cube trays to freeze for later. Clean, cheap, amazing, try it.

Basil is going nuts … time to make homemade pesto!

4 ingredients, one piece of equipment, less than 5 minutes! Making it now and will post the video in just a bit. I promise it’s super easy and tastes sooooo much better than store bought.

We have some tomatoes ready in the garden, but not a whole lot. And I’ve got a lot to do so. What do I do with them until I’m ready to make sauce? Freeze them, of course!
