Hit the mother load of elderberries this evening. NOW, how to handle them. Remove from stems first, then soak to get the floaters, then process??? OR, these are plenty ripe, freeze then and just remove from stems?

Thanks for your advice!

The animals always love it when they get fresh mulch in their homes. Thanks to Donna Homer Ruch Brown for the donation to purchase the mulch. Not only does it look good but it also keeps the flies down too!!

Well I spent 4 hours or so today rototilling about 1/3 or so of our high tunnel, smoothing it out and mixed in bunch of topsoil and compost.

Now... Anything else I should be mixing in before planting?? I'm planning on hooking up drip irrigation and dividing the beds into 5 foot wide beds by probably 15' long or so with cardboard and mulch between the rows with a 4' wide center row down the entire middle.

It's our first season planting and doing this, so any advice would be welcomed. Also, what are your favorite late summer/fall crops to grow in your high tunnel or greenhouse?

URGENT! We were out of town today celebrating a birthday when one of my neighbors checked on our pigs and they had somehow busted through their pen. They are now running free somewhere in Trinidad! If everybody could please keep an eye out for us and if they are seen, call or text me immediately I would truly appreciate it! We're looking for one black male and two spotted females. We are located on the road to Simpson's rest. Hopefully we can bring them back home! Thanks for everybody keeping an eye out! 505-459-5182

Pickled green onions anyone? I had a bunch of green onions so I decided to try a pickling recipe. The picture on the right is a piece of ham with cream cheese and pickled onions made into a roll-up. We're definitely going to have to try that one! Looks and sounds delicious đŸ˜‹!

Pictures don't do justice but I just harvested a nice 3 lb or so of lavender flowers today! They say lavender is calming so I'm going to use this as my pillow tonight with all the s*** I've been going through lately LOL. Just kidding, but we definitely have some new Farm products we will be making from this harvest!
