My most sincere apologies to everyone for us just disappearing into thin air. We’re still here…just laying low. I’m personally having a really difficult time just keeping up with the demands of homeschooling, a WHACKADOODLE toddler & our newest. So anyone who prays, pray for this mama! I’m overwhelmed! 🫶🏼

If you’re still looking for milk and eggs, my two best sources for y’all (close to Trinity) are Bossy Farms in Riverside & Living Stone Dairy in Crockett/Lovelady. I’m not sure how anyone is for eggs right now while the birds molt, but we’re personally down to around 3 per day…🫠 This too shall pass!

🎃 Here’s our crew (Ethan, Lexi, Adrielle, Uncle Nathan) from last night & then me and Astrid…bc why wouldn’t she be my costume?! 😂

Praying everyone has a wonderful Holiday season, and we promise to keep in touch as the tides continue to change. 🩶

I can only post this because there’s some distance now. This was July 19th. 🗓️ Our last ditch effort to get Thursday up and on her feet. She’s being held up by a strap and a set of hip clamps, and you can see that she just couldn’t get her footing. The heat index was ~115-118 degrees 🌡️ each day that she was down, and that was ultimately her demise. 😞 The men were working so hard while deliberating on what had to be done…putting her down. 💔 This was my due date & I was inside my parents’ house forcing my kids to watch the TV so they wouldn’t get curious about what was taking place outside & administering antibiotics for a strep rebound. 🥵 Then I heard the gunshot & started to cry. My heart raced because all of my kids were right there, but they didn’t hear it because they didn’t know. My mama heart was so wrecked in that moment, but I was also SO relieved that Thursday was no longer suffering. 😩 What a crazy mix of emotions it all was.

In the meantime I have also endured some pretty crippling postpartum depression, so that’s made anything that’s not absolutely necessary, really hard to do…like keep this page going. But by the grace of God and tons of support from my husband, kids and parents, I’m doing a lot better. 🙌🏼

If you’re still here and hanging out for the occasional update, thank you. 🫶🏼 While we’ve hung up our hat on the herd share for now, we’re still here, we’ve still got eggs for sale, and we’ll stay busy homesteading, homeschooling & pressing on into what the Lord has for us in this new chapter of our lives. Thank you all for being part of it! ♥️

Our little herd is sooooaking up this gentle rain and the cooler temperatures. ☔️ Just wish our Thursday had made it through the heatwave 🌡️ to experience this relief too. 🥺 Sometimes things just happen so intensely and so fast, you’re just left reeling, thinking surely it wasn’t real. But like the fox eating our chickens, it happened!! 🫣 And here we are, praise God!

This was my biggest accomplishment over this Labor Day weekend. 😆 Besides keeping a family of 6 fed and alive.

Do you like a good home made yeast roll? It’s taken some time, but we’ve finally figured out our go-to recipe. 🤪

Have a wonderful Labor Day today! ❤️ Ethan, Adrielle, Lexi & Astrid. (And all the adults too. 😉)

Hi there friends. We know it’s been a while since we’ve posted. It’s been a long, “eventful” summer & we’re finally getting some normalcy back. (Cont in comments)

Hi friends, we’re still here! 🥒🌶️🫑 We’ve just taken a break after a shaky May / June & a tumultuous July. 🥵 Taking a step back and intentionally making ourselves rest is 1000% what our family needed. And I’m sure Leah’s folks will need a break after keeping the plates spinning in our absence. Why are some seasons just so intense?! We may never know. 🔥 But here are a couple pictures of the 2 bigs harvesting fresh veggies from the garden with their Great Aunt Jen & Uncle Fred. They had a blast finding and picking the best veggies together. 🍅🌽🫛 We love that their little hearts are growing an appreciation for seeing that real food is grown in your yard, not solely bought at the store or produce stand. 🩷💙

Full disclosure—we have not been doing the farming around here. Grandma, Grandpa & Uncle Nathan have been the workforce while we snuggle a newborn and come out from under the fog that was July. 🥵 It was an intense month. From multiple rounds of antibiotics, two downer cows and LOTS of care and tending to them, 2 losses (Thursday & her baby 😭) our new little one, an anniversary (wait…that happened?!) & a new calf…it was something we couldn’t have endured without the help of our family. We don’t take any of it for granted at all. And we have felt so supported by you all along the way as well. Thank you. We love you all! ❤️🫶🏼

Whew, y’all. It’s been a week! Life with a newborn and 3 other energetic kids is really no joke.

In other news, the calf is now being separated from Autumn at night so we can begin to determine her output. The last couple days it’s been pretty pathetic, but it’s normal for a mama cow to not let down for a milking when she’s this fresh. We bring him in so she can see and smell him during milkings, so consistency and time will tell what she’s going to give us each day.

In the meantime, our little family of 6 is taking a really REALLY needed break to visit family out of state. If you need eggs or have any questions, please private message us or text my folks, if you have their numbers.

Thank you all for riding the waves with us. We love you!

It just dawned on me that we never introduced our newest family member on this page. 🤪

Astrid Seraiah was born on Thursday 7/20 at 05:52, safely into the hands of our excellent midwife, and in the presence of my husband and our awesome birth team. She decided to come breech, and the Lord had us with one of the best breech-trained midwives in our area. He knew!! Even so, there were no complications and we are all in love. And still a little foggy & not on social media quite as much right now. Haha! 🩷

🌤️ And just like that, we woke up to Autumn’s new bull calf this morning! ☀️ I won’t lie when I say PRAISE GOD for a successful delivery, because any alternative wouldn’t have been good. 🙏🏼 So while we lost Thursday and the tiny baby that we worked so hard to get growing inside of her, 💔 we stand in awe of the Lord’s timing and His miracle of new life both in our home and on our farm. He truly is good. ✨😭🙌🏼
