Both Matthew and Adam are going to church camp this year! Camp is in July but we’re raising funds to pay for it now. Each number below is a dollar amount needed to pay for it. Just tell me a number you’d like to pledge for it and I’ll cross it off. Once we get them all crossed off the boys get to go to camp. Remember I have all the numbers up to $28 twice because both boys are going. Thanks!

I have three roosters, two goats, a pair of geese, some laying hens and five ducks for sale and three dogs looking for a new home. Two of the dogs do great with all animals and the other one does fine with goats but not with chickens. PM me for more info.

Hey everyone, our family moved here to Trinity a little while back and we’re ready to do a meal pick up, like we used to do back home! The meal will be ready on the 11th or 12th, your choice. The cut off to get your order in is Wednesday the 8th. We can meet you at Brookshires in Trinity or you can pick up from our home in Deep River Plantation. When you place your order we will set up a pick up time and place. We will be making individual plates as well as family sized trays. As always, you are free to pick and choose whatever items and sizings you like. Just PM me with your food choices and sizing, as well as your pick up choices. Once I’ve got you down on our schedule, I’ll make sure and message you to let you know that you’re on our list for pick up. There’s also a delivery option!
The meal for that weekend will be a traditional Cuban meal, from my heritage. We’ll be doing a flavorful black beans and rice also called Arroz con Gris. This dish is made with parboiled rice and bacon as well as black beans cooked together until the rice is a beautiful grey.
We’ll also be making genuine Cuban roasted pork or Lechón Asado. This well seasoned pork roast will make your mouth water. I add many seasonings to my marinade included hand crushed garlic, bitter oranges and hand squeezed limes and we marinate it over night. Then we slow cook it for hours until the meat is falling off the bone.
Pricing for a one person, generously portioned, plate will be $12.
A Family sized portion of the rice will be $30 and will generously feed a family of six.
The pork family sized portion will be $45 and can generously feed a family of six.

I’m dreading writing this post because I’m so devastated. Our favorite duck Howard, the wild mallard that adopted us, has past away today due to an attack from a neighboring cat. She’d been sitting on her nest and was vulnerable. We don’t believe any of the eggs are viable anymore. We’ve been her family for over five years and our farm will never be the same without her.
On a happier note, our goat Penny had her baby this morning and in honor of Howard’s life we’ve decided to name the baby Howard. She’s a beautiful baby girl with blue eyes!
