For those who like a face to go with the name...
Hello! I'm Rachel, the owner and operator of WindRose Pintos. 🙂
My goal is to produce exclusively Tobiano foals, as far as pattern goes, and only color genes that will not "fade" the pattern later in their lives or cause physical issues. You will not find silver, grey, roan, Sabino, or LP in my breeding stock.
In addition to that (and much more importantly), I breed for strong bones, thick bodies, good attitudes, and solid, willing minds.
I also work with each foal from birth, guaranteeing they are friendly, easy to handle, and willing. This gives them a sound base for future success with their person/family.
Each foal is trained to lead, stand tied, pick up their feet safely, and load/unload from a trailer, before weaning. My foals are weaned between 4-6 months old, depending on when the mare and foal show me they're ready. The foals are ready for their new homes shortly after weaning.
