Proof of Life: Hello, long-lost flower friends! Well, more like I am the long-lost one. From vacation to school starting, football games, homeschool, and everything in between, it has been a bit crazy around here. It always takes a minute to get in the groove! Add to this the fact that we have all (if you are local!) been trying to survive the high temperatures and no rain. Here’s hoping that changes soon!

But I wanted to check in and say: Yes, I am still here. Yes, I am still trying to grow fall flowers. And yes, I think I am past the point of wanting to burn it all down! lol The optimal phrase is “I think!”

Summer surprise! I have never had a lisianthus variety give me such a strong second flush. Pretty sure this has to do with my past w**d management(or lack there of!). This year I planted in a compostable w**d barrier and it seems to have made a huge difference. There were still w**ds, and volunteer celosia that snuck through, but all in all the row looks vastly different from my rows that no barrier.

Wanted to take a moment and give a farm update!

For the month of July and August we will be taking a Friday Flowers and sales break. This gives us the chance to work on soil health for the fall, get things planted for the fall, and not stress over the bug pressure. I will still post and give updates about what is to come, but we will not have flowers available. Also, if you would like to be kept more in the loop head to our website and subscribe to our newsletter! I just shared the most recent one on Monday. Did you miss it?
