Chris, our food truck manager, has a severely handicapped child and needs some help. Below is text from his GoFund me page:
We are trying to raise money for a handicap van for our 12 yr old son, Deryck. Deryck was born with many complications right from birth and has grown into a beautiful young man with fiery red hair. He has been through so much in his short life so far, from seizures to breathing issues to physical complications, and has dealt with it all with a smile. He is gtube dependent, non verbal, and immobile except to roll around as he plays. He’s been diagnosed with Lennox Gastoux and cerebral Palsy with many other secondary diagnosis. Just this past year he has had surgeries for a Vagal Nerve Stimulator to help with seizures and most recently a tracheotomy due to complications from an illness (done after picture was taken). The vehicle we have currently is not handicap accessible. It has become harder to transport him as he has become bigger and heavier. Now, we add the extra equipment needed (oxygen/respiratory equipment) to safely transport him to/from school and into the community. We have been trying to do things ourselves for the last 12 years, but have reached a point where we need to ask for help. Anything would be appreciated to get us closer to this goal. Thank you.
